PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION COACHING
Entering a public speaking competition is a great way for your child to build an outstanding portfolio. Being on stage and under the spotlight is a brilliant opportunity for your child to voice their opinions, showcase their charisma, and shed light on their leadership potential. A virtual competition is especially a great way to compete and learn alongside international peers.
The speech craft is both art and science. Students will have to understand speechwriting fundamentals and must employ creative flair to distinguish their speeches from other contestants. Further, students must be able to deliver the written speech with power and passion. Speakers with strong delivery can move the audience and drive home their key message. In this program, we will practice with the students so they can convey the full power of their speech.
Since 2017, we have helped students enter, and win, global public speaking competitions.

Case Study: A Bookworm Turned a Champion
The student
The student is 11-year-old from an international school in Thailand. She has completed Public Speaking Level 1: Speak with Confidence and Public Speaking Level 2: Present like a Pro.
The Competition
The student participated in a global public speaking competition held by a non-profit based in the United Kingdom. It is a virtual competition where applicants submit videos of their original speeches which will then be evaluated by a panel of judges. The topics vary each year. Examples of past topics include “creativity,” “small actions, big differences,” and “silver lining.”
Our Strategy
We brainstormed potential speech ideas with the student. In the end, we chose to talk about reading as the student was a bookworm. Our key message was that reading enhanced imagination and promoted empathy. In the speech, we used a descriptive language to tell a story of her love of reading.
We completed the project with a video shoot and submitted the video.
Outcome
The student won 3rd place in the Junior category of the competition.
